Keyhole Surgery of the Knee – Knee Arthroscopy

Knee arthroscopy is very popular as keyhole surgery of the knee in which small cuts are made through which a small camera is inserted. The doctor diagnosesthe problems concerned with the various components of the knee like torn cartilage, arthritis and ligament damage.

The most important benefit of this surgery is to analyse and confirm what the problem is with the knee. Using this, a knee surgeon or a Patellofemoral surgeon may carry on the treatment. A KeyholeSurgery of the Knee can be really helpful for a person who is in tremendous pain and discomfort in determining the actual problem. These discomforts can be due to many reasons like injuries, inflammation and many more.

It is not necessary for every person who has pain in the knees to undergo this surgery, here comes the importance of a good doctor or Patellofemoral Surgeon who will be able to guide the person better in this regard. There are several other methods like MRI scan that can be adopted for analysing the problems.

Although this surgery is very helpful and effective but there may be certain complications.  Scarring blood clots, difficulty in the urinary passage, pain, infection and bleeding are common with any surgery. In this case there can be some special complications like developing a lump, severe pain in the knee joint, stiffness and lack of ability to much use the knee. The recovery in the case of this surgery is much faster than some of the big knee surgeries but walking may be a bit difficult in the initial days.
